Absolutely ^ x2

It's not about selling to an audience today, it's for 10 years down the road+

Corvette enthusiasts will still buy it and with upscaling everything it's going to grab buyers who want performance but can't afford 90K for a Porsche. And people who weren't even considering a Corvette now are.

You can appeal to your audience but eventually that audience is going to move elsewhere.

Case in point, Jaguar didn't change design for almost 20 years trying to cater to the same audience and it almost drove them to extinction, now look at the models that have come out over the past 5 years.

Also, "younger buyers" hasn't been defined. If my master plan goes well, I'll be driving a new vette, ZL1, or something similar before turning 40. My guess is that the average age of a corvette owner is considerably older that this. Anyone know the stats on this?

Average age is somewhere in the 50s if I'm correct.

The industry as a whole though is around 40-50. AKA the people who actually have money to buy a new car.

As of 2009. Clearly you can see a trend. Link below pic.

Btw this involved over 750,000 between years 1967-2009.

For the lazy

Annual household income is interesting too.

With higher degrees being achieved sooner there's no reason why people in the upper 20's and lower 30's shouldn't be buying this car if they grab jobs early on and pay off loans in a timely manner.

I think I read the average age is 59, one of the editorials was stating that if this change in design works we may see a change in the 911 due to its similarities in design stance (keeping the same design base, refreshes while increasing performance with only minor body style changes).

I'm 28 but the good Lord has been good to me.

I have the title in hand on both vehicles in my avatar and will likely part with both temporarily and drive the jeep. My goal is to put half down and finance the rest so I don't have mortgage size car payments.

I will have it by 30 for sure...I turn 29 in June

Had to post this up. Apparently vette owners start modding extremely fast lol.

Warranty? Pfft.

That being said, depends on what they mean by mods.

I know I'd probably start doing cosmetic mods within the first month or two.

See, floor mats? That's not really a mod. That means our Terrain was modded at delivery.

I'm curious to see what cosmetic mods people will do for the C7 though. I can already see a lot of work done to the vents.

After seeing some of the awful chrome bling I have seen all over C5 and C6 corvettes I bet someone will have Chrome overlays for all the vents on this one,

Yep. I'd leave them black. It provides a nice color contrast with every paint color.
