Swap gauge cluster non rs

Is it plug and play to swap the LT1 Display with the smaller screen to the bigger one in the RS package? (Speedo screen)

I also have the 7in screen and want to be able to play videos but seems I cant do that? I have the latest radio with the android auto and apple play.

FYI LT1 is the engine in the SS. You have a 1LT. To answer your question, I do not believe it is plug-n-play since the HMI which I believe controls it is coded to your VIN specific options. Gen5DIY can probably fix that for you by unlocking the options for the HMI. Send them a PM. They may reply to this thread to confirm. Usually are pretty good about that.

It is not plug and play, Chris White at White Industries is working with a company that can correct the calibration. Last I heard from him, if you try and plug the IP into the car with out the calibration being updated it will brick the IP and it not recoverable afterwards.

I spoke with a Chevy Rep who told me if i do it that it could void the warranty. Is this true? Long as i dont have the dealership install it how would they ever know? I really want to upgrade to these displays.

Your HMI has to be flashed for it to work. Therefore warranty (B2B one) is gone at that point. My understanding is everything like this is VIN coded and locked. Gen5DIY can do the reflash, but it will show if you ever take the car in for work on myLink.

I swapped mine on my Gen5 from the blue one to the color one. Everything worked great. When I asked my dealer about it, he said if the problem does not originated from the swap, then you good with the warranty. That may vary from dealer to dealer. The best thing was, when I bought my 2016 SS from him, he personally bought my car for his son. Mine was a 2012 LS V6.
When he bought mine, it looked like this.
