Black Camaro w/ Black Stripes, plus a ? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

First off, I want to post a few pictures of my recently striped car because a) people asked for them a while back, and b) pictures of this color combination are really hard to find on the internet which I realized when I was contemplating what color scheme I wanted. One of the really cool features of the matte black stripes (I think anyways) is how they change color in different lights. When you look at my car during bright sunlight, the stripes honestly look silver versus they look the really subtle black in the shade and at night. Anyways, I would highly recommend this combination to anyone who is on the fence as to whether or not it is cool.

The question: for those of you out there with the matte black stripes, does anyone have any tips as far as keeping them looking good? I'm resigned to the fact that they'll get scratched up here and there but I'd like to at least think I took some steps to keeping them in good shape. I'm mostly interested in washing because it seems like drying them off if where you could run into some problems.

I for one, have heard of this combination and thought it was weird. HOWEVER... I saw this very combination and I must say... OUTSTANDING! Looks awesome. If I had a black car, this would be my combo.

That's a tough one for me. I like them both. The silver and black is always a nice combo and it ties in well with the silver rims. I don't like siver stripes on cars with black rims. Also, my triple black vert has no stripes and I am curious to know what the maintance is on the flat black stripes as I think they may match the canvas top. The silver stripes stand out more and the flat black give the car a subtle clean look.

SS Panther, the "silver stripes" are the matte black ones.

Looks nice. I put the flat black stripe on the trunk lid and spoiler for a subtle effect and really like it. Just wash it like normal and don't wax it or use any type of black plastic trim chemical and you will be fine.

Adams waterless wash or detail spray to clean them I have the same combo and it is freaking awesome looking!

Wow. I didn't catch that. I can't believe how silver they look in the daylight. Thanks for pointing this out. Anyone with a black vert/black top with matte black stripes?

Looks awesome. Dodge allows this combo from the factory on the R/T Challenger, and it looks bad ass on those as well.

I have the matte black rally and hockey stripes. Every now and then they start to look a little bit faded. So I use Adam's VRT (Vinyl Rubber and Tire). Let me tell it brings the stripes back. No more faded look. Check it out here is the link.

I have a black 1SS and am contemplating putting stripes on it. I am leaning towards gold stripes but these look awesome aswell.
