3.91s if your future is going to bring 6800+ shifts. 3.70s otherwise. I run 3.91s with a 28 inch tire.

That depends entirely on what you have done to your car, what you plan to do to your car, and how you use your car. When considering rear end gear keep in mind that the automatic transmission is already geared more aggressively than the manual.

You currently are at 3.27. Get a stall & tranny tune and cut those shift times down and it will be a whole new animal. That 4.03 1st gear we have is no joke. Paddle that baby down to 1st and let her rip for maximum pleasure.

Yeah stock L99 is 3.27 vs stock LS3 3.45...Going 3.70/3.73 would be a big difference for an auto. 3.91 might make your first gear too agressive and almost useless when flooring it :\

I heard 3.91s are tire shredders with our autos and a 3600 stall. But no personal experience whatsoever.

I have the adm gear swap. I installed 3:45 gears and it will lite up the 305's. I would maybe go 3:70 at the most. But once you get the hp up you will have a hard time finding traction. 3:91's are too aggressive. Unless your in the hunt for some serious burnouts.

3.91s are good with a good tire. Not a lot of difference on first gear between 3.91 and 3.70, its the higher gears that are more noticeable.

Not to thread Jack but what would be the best tire for both strip and street with these gears?
