What TSP did was send me the kit and it came with the 7.400 pushrods. they did still recommend using them but since our car has a good range for them they will normally be really close. I believe if you wanted to be absolutely perfect you would need to order different ones for exhaust and intake. but that dont need to be done because there is a range of acceptability i guess you could say. but they send them to you and you measure when installing them and send them to get different size if needed like milling head

Nightmare you make a really great point, research is probably the most important thing with these cars. I have learned more about cars and this Camaro since I bought her just by reading and reading and reading things here on C5. So I am definitely taking my time with what I want to do to it.

Absolutely LP, like I have said, I have seen many posts about these certain types of supporting mods and havent seen anyone post any thing bad about them. So these are definitely on my list.

You'll also need supporting mods and those are

- trunion upgrade
- Brian Tooley racing dual platinum springs that have a "0" failure rate.
- chromoly pushrods
- melling 10296 pump
- c5r timing chain, stay away from the dbl rollers, you'll need the timing cover ground down for clearance issues.
Whew! you scared me! I had to check to make sure my Cloyes C5R set wasn't a double Roller. It's a single thank god, and it will arrive tommorow.

My best advise is this. Look for the best shop around you, even if its a few hours away. Talk to them first. See what cams they offer/have tuned and worked with. Tell them what supporting mods you want also. Give us info on there parts/cam and the shop. Let us analyze!

Best case if you ask me is when a shop handles all parts/install and tune. With your approval of cam and parts. This limits chances of failures when people work with what they know!

also most people here go more aggressive then less aggressive on there cam pick. Most of the cam people run on here, i wont.

Yea I dont need to go too aggressive with it, like I said, its my DD and I doubt it will see a track. I dont mind a little shake and the power from mid-high and of course the sound, Im set on having that low deep growl that I have heard in older muscle cars. The good thing for me right now is time, Im currently deployed overseas and still have a couple months before I get back. So enough time to research, research, and research some more. I just about have the supporting mods nailed down i.e. pumps, timing chain, springs, trunion upgrades etc... the closer I get to pulling the trigger I will definitely be asking if there is anything else you guys see that I am missing so when I get home I can install it then take it to my tuner to get tuned. Thanks everyone for the continued help in this project!!

THIS. Almost all of the big vendors here want to sell you their shelf cam. What do YOU want out of it? More Power, more tq? You going with a blower later? Are you staying N/A? Are you gonna spray? Do you want a super CHOP at idle? Do you want no chop?

There is NO 1 CAM that works for EVERYTHING, despite what people on here tell you

All I want to know is why there are 50 different cams that all pretty much make the same hp.

Everyone and their dog makes 460 hp. Not necessarily a bad thing, but how different are all the specs between these cams? Is that why we dont go by lobe specs here and name them the "barney cam", or the "fat albert cam" instead?

The PCM 545 is an AWESOME driving cam.. So much so that I installed one in my own car!

We custom spec cams also. Typically they are at your door in less than a week. Here is our ordersheet for doing a custom cam.

Sweet Thanks.

Yeah, the torque curve on that "545" cam speaks for itself.
