Best performance shops for tune and header install michigan

I'm getting headers in about 2 weeks. Does anyone have any recommendations where I should go to get them installed and a tune? I live in Michigan. I got a quote from vector motorsports and they want $750 to install the headers and $750 for the tune. Would I be better off getting a tune from someone like Jannety Racing or Dyno Steve. My mods are going to be headers, high flow cats, exhaust and cold air intake.

Can't speak for install, but Vector Motorsports tuned my car and I am very happy with them. Seems as though their price went up a bit as I only paid $600 for a dyno tune. As far as headers, they really aren't that hard to install by yourself. Get a buddy and set aside a few hours and you should be good. I am also from Michigan, particularly Jackson. Best of luck to you!

No brainer for DynoSteve! $450 for lifetime tunes...can't beat it.

I had headers, CAI, and a tune done at Livernois Motorsports. Couldn’t be more pleased. One stop shop.

Another thing to consider is scheduling issues with any shop you choose.
Right now most shops are in their busiest season for upgrades so they may be booked solid for some time.
Also, don't forget you may run into scheduling issues with the shop due to Covid issues.

$750 is a lot for header install. Should be half that for labor. Jannetty will provide you a tune if you buy the parts from him. Toy just need to buy the tuner. Remote tune would be fine for just headers.

Did the headers and full Borla Atak exhaust with the help of a friend and we did it in about 3 hours. Really not difficult. I went to Ted over at Jannetty Racing for my tune. I was working with DynoSteve when it was just headers, CAI and cam...but when I put the Maggie on it Steve could no longer help because he doesn't do Forced Induction tunes....I really have nothing but good things to say about Ted and the gang over at Jannetty. They're both (DynoSteve and Ted) very good. I couldn't be happier.

I think I'm going to go with a dyno tune because I really dont know what to expect definitely with the transmission tune. And if its too aggressive I don't want to have to wait to get it adjusted. This is my first time getting mods and a tune done to a car.

Most of the time you will wait less than a day to get a new remote tune. I have worked with Dynosteve and he turns your tune around FAST. And if you install during work hours (and even after work hours) you can call him and get an adjustment about as fast as it takes him to tweak it and hit send. From all I heard Ted is just as good!! A remote tune for just headers is all you really need.

OP, easy solution. Tell DynoSteve you want more than one tune and then you can just swap if you feel the tranny is shifting too hard. My original tune the tranny was shifting super fast and super hard and I didn't like it. I told him to dial the shifting down by 50% and he did. It's AWESOME now...

So I called livernois motorsports and they are saying if I want them to do it they have to install a lower temperature thermostat and new spark plugs and wires. That doesn't sound right to me. This is the only place I've heard this from.
