Anyone else hates diesel fanboys?

This is going to be a long drawn out post, but it's my rant so here we go.

Ok so I have a room mate who has a 2nd Gen cummins, who thinks that it's just the best thing ever. But before I go on I will tell you a little more about my experience. I have 540 hours of training (hands on) in Cad/cam tech, and precision machining, my father and his brothers also own a shop that builds drag cars/engines. I rebuilt my first 350 sbc when I was 15 with the help of my father. I spent all my free time in the shop, watching and helping them build engines that made power far from what your usual enthusiasts thought possible, only numbers that guys who raced had seen or heard of, nitrous fed bbc's all the way up to a flat plane cranked sbc that turnt 9000rpm easily.

Back to the story, I eventually got tired of him running his mouth about his cummins, so I told him that I could outpull him with a gasser and he then laughed. He doesn't know of my experience in the engine world. He has a 12 valve which was only rated at 440 ft lbs of torque. Hell my father's stock 8.1l vortec was rated at 455 ft lbs of torque and that was between 2800 and 3200 rpm. I told him this, and he got all mad and started saying that he made his torque at 1600 rpm blah blah etc. I then explained that there are N/A BBC'S that are making nearly 700 ft lbs of torque at 3000 rpm and I'm sure there is some over that number.. He then said that was with mods and stock for stock he would win blah, blah. Then I proceeded to tell him that stock for stock he was still FI, and if he let me throw some type of FI on BBC then he would really lose. Lol opinions?

Seriously, what draws people to give their truck a bad tune so they can blow thick black clouds of smoke?

Personally, I think it is because they are immature a-holes...but maybe I'm completely wrong about them.

He doesn't have anything serious, 5 inch turbo back and tune. Now if he got some bigger injectors, lift pump and added some boost it would be different. Even then that stock little holset 6X mm turbo would probably hold him back, not to mention everything for a diesel is 5x the price it should be.

As far as the thread title goes, it seems everyone hates something.

Anyone else hates Mustang fanboys?

Anyone else hates Dodge fanboys?

Anyone else hates ricer fanboys?

I can go on... want me to go on?

Too many variables when hooking them to each other, gears, tires, solid axle or independent suspension, lifted or lowered, dually or SRW, driver mod.

My point is that I can do whatever his diesel does with a gasser and not look like a fake redneck throwing black smoke all over the place while making less power hp than a family sedan.

Most modern semi's make less horsepower than a 6th gen Camaro SS.

As far as just blowing soot just for kicks, yeah, that's kinda goofy.
