Thoughts?
There are 2 used 15 Z/28's in my area for sale 1 with 782 miles the other with 718 miles.
Both are under $60,000 I am considering on trading my 12 SS in and picking one up. When they were brand new just couldn't do the $$$$ I am curious what peoples opinions and thoughts were Thanks |

Did you ever stop to think why there are so many used Z/28s with so few miles?
I mean they are a great car, but they are really a great race car. Maybe not so much a street car. I think a bunch of people bought them not thinking about the use case for such an animal. If you're buying it as a toy to use as a toy, then by all means go ahead. If you intend to use it as a daily driver or often street use, I'd stick with your current car and mod it up. You'll get more use and save a few shekels. Besides, the first time you have to take a steep driveway and break a corner off that splitter will break your heart. YMMV of course. |

Would be a badass ride, but maintenance is going to be VERY expensive.

Well, let's see. 2grand+ for tires once a year. That splitter is going to take some damage (over and over again). Depending on the quality of roads in CO, the suspension could be an issue.
Again this is all if the car is meant to be a driver. If he's buying it to use for what it was designed for.... Then tires and fuel and the occasional clutch and tune job. I'm not saying he shouldn't get it. Just be warned if trading his daily driver for it, there are some things to look out for. But hell. It ain't my money. Buy it! |

I agree with everyone else... If it is a toy, then do it.. If you plan on driving it on any kind of consistent basis, probably not worth it.

Don't do it! Your current Camaro's taillights are MUCH better!!
In all seriousness, as a semi daily driver it will probably be a very unenjoyable ride. The Z/28, while incredible, is made to be a barely street legal race car.

'If there’s been one persistent dig against the Z/28, it’s that the car is nothing but a track toy and can’t be used on the street. This refrain tends to come from people who haven’t driven the car and/or who are upset it beat their favorite car for the title of Best Driver’s Car last year. To make this short, they’re wrong.'
http://www.motortrend.com/news/2015-...view-update-1/ The car has taken the huge depreciation hit already. It’s design is the 3rd iteration of the GM design team for the platform and is special (‘Drivers Car’). Take a long test drive through your daily route and let us know what you think. Buy that beast if you can afford her.
