Camaro on Top Gear - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Alright...now Top Gear has already kinda ninja bashed the camaro...(thier unfounded bias towards american manufacturing, gets kinda annoying)

BUT...

The Vauxhall VXR8 got great reviews from them and he ended up fallin in love with the car (which shares the same global rwd platform)

So...my question is...when do you think chevy is gonna release the car to be reviewed by top gear...

Chevrolet has always been nice with Top Gear...they gave them them the C6, CTS-v and ZR1...and they did that now to long after the ZR1 was released.

I am excited to see the Camaro in the hands of Richard or Jeremy.

To people who do not watch the show...please do so...the show is hilarious and have some great cars, they test out anything from kia to alfas, and also have bizarre, yet entertaining challenges....a quick episode reccomendation...watch the American Muscle Challenge...it features the Dodge Challenger, Vette ZR1 and Caddy CTS-V and they actually end up praising the cars and applaud america in developing fine cars.

But back to the original question...When do you think TOP GEAR will recieve an SS to test out and help boost sales?

Since all the major US base car magazines haven't been given access to a production SS to review/test I'm sure that will happen before they send one over to them.

Chewy.... They weill be filming season 13 in about April - June.... so they "might" get one... If GM so chooses.

This is a great opportunity for a lot of advertising....covering specifics on the car....handling, acceleration, ride, comfort, etc.

GM, IMO, knows this and will probably get one over there as soon as they can. They need to do this!

I'm really wondering what the fellows from Top Gear will have to say about the Camaro. The Mustang GT got a love/hate review, and the Challenger got a dismissively good review (even though I'm sure they were being nice to it since the CTS-V and ZR1 were fantastic).

Thoughts/predictions?

Richard Hammond will be all over it in no time.
He's a huge muscle car fan.

if they were minimally pleased with the challenger & mustang, i'd say we're safe (well maybe not on the interior - that'll be hit or miss)

Eh not really jeremy called the ZR1 2009 car of the year. I'm sorry i LOVE this show and i think they do give fair reviews but they don't look at the price as much they look at the interior and performance. So the ZR1 KILLED in performance but lacked in the interior cause he was putting it up in price with like... the enzo and stuff based on performance... I actually think the camaro would do very well because the interior imo is beautiful so i'm sure they'll like it it'll probably be like the old cadallac cts-v review back when it was 400 hp... the dings will bug them but they'll love everything else

I think American cars are starting to catch for them. The ZR1 and CTS-V they tested were thought to be muscle cars, but turned into sports cars. Same thing will happen with the Camaro. Clarkson will drift it, I'll drool, and we'll all have a good time.
