ZL1s are expensive to insure because of all the lovely people who think they can click off traction/stability control and then wreck them.

38k on mine, I live in metro Atlanta and drive it in the winter. I definitely recommend an All Season for winter weather here.

Haven't done brakes yet, but I'm sure they're coming up soon. The only issue I've had is a rattling sunroof shade.

If you're driving around metro Atlanta at all - you WILL scrape the front diffuser on things the way the streets are. Just consider it a wear item. Fortunately they're not that expensive and easy to replace yourself, so count on that once a year if you want to keep it looking nice.

The biggest cost will be fuel and tires. I'm in coastal Ga and my gas price for premium has been as low as $1.89 and as high as $3.00 (presently at $2.35) a gallon in my area so fuel cost will be dependent upon how much you drive.

Same goes for tires and if you track your car. Goodyear F1's are cheaper but they don't last long as compared to Michelin Pilot Super Sports, which I run as my daily setup, but they are great for track use and grip like the dickens when warm.

I got a Chevy PP extended warranty platinum plan which also covers the MR shocks and that alone is a big relief when it comes to ownership expenses.

Lucky for me the original owner did just that. I have a 2012 with 10000 miles on it and still have bumper to bumper GM warranty

My insurance is about 1500 per year. I do have high limits set. 100/250/100 also no tickets or accidents.

Insurance on my ZL1 is something like $8 more per month than it was on my 2011 SS.

I put 31K on my ZL1 over 3.5 years before I sold it.

Issues:

1) Supercharger noise which was replaced under warranty. Cost $0

2) Rear end noise when turn if the car was cold. Repaired under TSB/ warranty. Cost $0

Costs:

1) Oil changes (8 quarts of mobil one every 5K) Cost $70 - $100 per change.

2) Tires. Stock Goodyears averaged 15K per set. NO Burnouts or track days mainly highway driving. Cost 1100 per set.

3) Crappy 14.6 MPG on Premium gas. Not bad now but sucked with it was close to $4 a gallon.

That was it. My main expenses was tires and fuel. I was getting due to brakes but still had some decent pad left when it sold.
