Due to the lack of a Z/28 in the gen 5 line up, my guess is no one that has any pull. Or they see it but don't care.

yep because development on a BA car doesn't take anytime. we just slap some performance parts on the car and pray it handles better then the competition.

I have no idea why people seem to think there will not be another performance model 5th Gen released. I have built three Camaros and all three perform better than the ZL1. If I can do it I am pretty confident GM can do it.

Check this out, with particular emphasis on the 2nd last paragraph of text:

If the 5.5L makes 440hp, what would/will the 6.2 make? And is that engine Gen-5 ZEE-able? At 6.2L, it would surely beat the GG tax...

If they are doing the 5.3 (5.5) and a 6.2 as we've heard, the 5.3 makes sense as the SS and the 6.2 in the Corvette and the Z28...
I'm good with that. I'm guessing a 6.2 would be around 480 HP.

I thought the 5.5l was only a racing displacement to comply with regulations?

That's probably right in the ballpark. If a 5.5 was 440hp, that's 80hp per L, multiply 80 x 6.2L and you come up with 496hp. And that's almost LS7 numbers!

Clyde

Is a 16% increase in HP realistic with the Gen V engine?

Also, why is the 5.7l displacement gone?

Why? They weigh a ton and would screw up the balance of the car. I believe they tried that with the Vette and dropped it for the same reason.
