They can be repaired.
Given a little TLC, those cars will look good as new.

Great group of pictures. I think the question isn't whether the car can be repaired --they can -- but whether it would be too dangerous to get them out and to not immediately fill the hole and support the spire. If you look at the pics it appears that much of the concrete foundation of the spire has been undermined. Also they need to figure out what caused this and whether it may be happening elsewhere under the museum. Hopefully there are no other problem areas and it can be repaired quickly. It would be absolutely great if they could also get the cars out. --- Bob

I'm just curious if the bldg structure has some issues now. Will they have to rebuild the entire museum, or least that section.
Or fill the hole with concrete and move forward? Lol |

According to Wendell Strode, they have hired sinkhole experts/geologists and their original construction company which is familiar with the karst (sinkhole) areas of Kentucky. Lots of sinkholes and caves. The preliminary conclusion is that the Skydome and main building are structurally OK and on sound footings. Hope that is true. Also hope they can actually extricate the cars that fell in.--Bob

I'll be interested to see what they use to get those 8 cars out.
