That was a freaking snow blizzard.

I would really like to see one of these trucks at the Houston Auto Show in Jan. I'm soon to be shopping for another truck.

They probably don't want to say they're using aluminum. But They did make mention use of 'mixed materials', which could include aluminum body work

Aluminum bed is a bad idea and they proved it. Pretty stupid to put one on their own truck.

Except let's be honest, most people are buying a 50K truck to go to CVS and back comfortably, and at that, buy it with a bed liner.

Now the work truck is another story. It matters there.

Looks like hammered dog sheet...previous body style was one of the best ever for the Silverado.

Love it! Mixed material manufacturing is not new for GM. Using the right material where it counts is another phrase. Aluminum spot welds, and flow drilling patents are all in use today. High pressure casting and laser welding of dissimilar metals.... You can find great videos and info on this by looking up the Cadillac CT6. May be a heavy use of aluminum but do not think of it like a pop rivet connected vehicle like some of the competition. Or a thought process of having to use aluminum only if it is not a good idea in that area.

Don't kid yourself.

They are buying a 65K truck to ride around town, with 4-doors, etc...

This is where the US auto makers are making $ hand over fist.
