Something tells me that’s your lifters that we are hearing in the final video you posted. If they tell you they will only replace the one side you need to fight with them HARD on replacing both sides since it sounds like they under filled your engine. At the very least get them to extend the power train warranty on your car because you deserve it.

For anyone that was wondering what happened I ended up getting the engine replaced at 7141 miles. Warranty took care of it, I did a little reading through here and it seems like this has happened to a couple others. Hopefully this engine won’t do the same to me.

So bearings were spun due to lack of oil. I'm sure they won't admit to basically starving the engine of oil by putting in 6 quarts instead of 10. Sounds like another dealer oil change horror story and reason 1001 to do your own oil changes. At least they took care of you, but imagine this happens out of warranty. Good luck getting a dealer to eat their costly mistake.

And a good reminder to check what you can after anyone works on your car. I don't even trust myself with oil changes. I leave the empty jug in front of where I park so I remember to check the level the day after I do an oil change. I also look under the car for drips. |
