GMConnects just gave me an update: "01/30/2012 - (4B00) Your car is bayed and is waiting for transportation by truck, rail or transfer to vendor." The Q\A hold was short on the first run of ZL1's manufactured last week. So far, so good on the build process and quality inspection too. Vendor reported " Your vehicle was sprayed through the paint shop on Thursday night. One time through no repairs." Excellent. I plan to track the railcar from Oshawa, ON to Louisiana. After 3 years of patience and 1 year of hard , hard dealer work, looks like the light at the end of the tunnel is near!!

I plan to take pics as it rolls off the railcar in my region and of course I'll post pics quickly too. (Ashen grey, exposed CF weave and gray stripe) This will be my dealer's first ZL1 and I have already talked to the tech who will perform the footwell light install and prep. I have a few specific requests like no freakin' holes drilled for front license plate and no dealer stickers. I'll just pull up a chair and watch!!

I told my dealership that if they did either of these I would break the deal on the car. Luckly AZ does not require the front plate, but the dealerships can put the plate bracket on if it's on the order.

I don't even want the dealership to wash my car. I want to give it the first bath, followed by clay bar, and then Adam's Polishes.

Not to try to dampen your spirits, but I wouldnt believe its on the way until you have a shipper number with the rail car number that it is loaded on.

If I remember correctly, it can still be held for a while even with the 4B00 code. The first few hundred on the original coupes in March of 2009 got bayed for several weeks while higher s/n's were being delivered...true it was a completely new car then.

Congrats on #4....thats almost like hitting the lottery. Be sure to post many high-res pictures....I have the same car on order.

dealer called and said there will be an extensive Quality Control on this car and the first will not arrive until mid march... i dont think he is right on this subject since yours is coming now?
