I joined back in 2008. I was sitting in a restaurant and on the tv GM was showing the production model of the Camaro that would be released in 2009. That evening I came home and searched for 5th gen Camaro forums so I can learn more as I knew I wanted one.

I can't begin to tell you how this site has helped me diagnose little problems, make mod decisions, shop for the best deals, meet some folks and just overall be incredibly helpful on countless occasions.

This being my 8th Camaro, I'll be damned if I can remember how I ever got anything done to 'em without the Internet. LOL.

That's sort of like me. I was in Perth Australia and got an e-mail from GM that ordering would start Oct 13th. Searched for 5th Gen forums and downloaded a bunch of reading material for my long flight back to the states.

After a bunch of flight delays and 27 straight hours of travel I went straight to the dealer, didn't even kiss the wife, and got my order in on the 15th as soon as I could.

I too was a long time lurker before joining the site and I do remember the passion back then of the concept car especially for me after seeing it in the flesh that same year at the fbody gathering along with the fbody god father himself.

I was just looking at the very first few threads. It seems most of the early members don't post anymore.

I remember when BowlingSS finally got his car, we were both in the same TPW.
This site was much more active then and lots of info and drama.

I'm still here and will be as long as I get compliments on my Camaro.
I went to get gas and to the post office today. Two stops in an hour
and at one I got one "beautiful car" and the other "nice car" comments.
As long as I keep my car detailed I bet it will continue for a long time.

The "No shade to V6..." and the seemingly straightforward question about Vinyl Hood Wrap has a week's worth of C5 drama.
