I was glad to finally see the results but that guy is super annoying to watch. Ford did a great job responding to the Z/28 and they deserve the accolades. Team Camaro will respond accordingly.

Agreed to most...I actually kind of like watching him. I think he's entertaining. We've seen a generation old Chevrolet barely lose to a best of breed, new tech Ford...which, by the way, doesn't it use Mag Ride now? (the Mag ride that GM designed??).

1.5 seconds on a track isn't barely winning. That's a pretty solid margin.

What I found interesting is the GT350R really didn't pull ahead until the last straight. The Z/28 was right with it through the turns.

Some people on Camaro6 would disagree with you and say it barely won lol

Chevy has work to do. We all win.

The cars' capabilities are still similar, so much so that on the open roads, I'm convinced the driver mod will make the real difference. If the Mustang owner is a better driver, it'll walk the Z/28, and if reversed, the Z/28 has to hit the brakes to make it even.

I will say the Shelby nails the Bullitt exhaust tone.

I didn't realize mustang went with 315's.

They had to beat the Z/28 or it would have been a failure. Glad to hear Randy say good things about the GT350R, congrats to Ford

Keep in mind, the Ford has a little more HP (21hp) and is 168lbs lighter. Again, it had to beat the Z/28 or else

I am not a huge fan of the "raspy" exhaust of the GT350, I LOVE the deep Z28 rumble/roar

Before I purchased my Z I tried to get a standard GT350 and was unable to. The standard GT350 is selling for 15k over sticker. To get the R you have to go to a selected "SVT" dealer and pay a minimum 15-20k over sticker ( they are all sold out at this point )

Lets do some reality math::

Z28, $75 -$20 = 55+ tax = around 60k and and is readily available

GT350R (as tested ) $67+ 15= 82+tax = around 84K and you aint getting one unless your last name is Ford..

That's why I own a Z28.. ^^

That's a $24K difference... Yeah...

But, But, But.....flat plane crank, cool interior, 8,000 redline, carbon wheels, and an unconfirmed 'Ring time. That all equals the extra special cost of owning one of the first year cars that Ford will sell as many as they can build the next year.

You made the right choice!!

At the end of the day, it's great for both Ford and Chevy to be producing these types of cars

The only "loser" (and I mean this figuratively) is the $100,000+ "exotic" that can't keep up with either car on the track

The host is a bit dopey....the best thing is the engine? really? you have a Formula One based suspension and carbon ceramic brakes and the engine is the best thing...hmmmm

Shelby 350s are a big win. Ford hit the mark with these cars. The Z28 is still a fantastic machine.

Everyone wins.
