Quad Tips on a 2018 Turbo Camaro

I ordered this Camaro with dealer install GFX, as GFX are not available for the turbo Camaro. After some study I realized installing quad tips involved more than lopping off the oem tips and clamping or welding on the new tips, so Friday found me at MRT Custom Exhaust, where they installed the v3 cat back and completed the fabrication needed to fit their quad tips to the lower cover.

As to what was involved I will quote MRT:

The majority of the exhaust system is our production exhaust for the 4 cylinder 2016+ Camaro. The axle-back portion is custom and has been modified and adjusted to incorporate the quad exhaust tip design by MRT.

Thank You

So... MRT did a custom order for you? How much extra was it for them to do that? Can the general public order this set up? I would love to do a quad tip rear valance on my car. The only option for the 2.0 (besides a custom muffler shop) was the Mishimoto quad tip (not impressed with the sound)... needless to say, I'd much rather have the MRT exhaust.

The parts pricing was the v3 plus the quad tips less a credit for the dual tips. Labor was five hours, and included some cutting, reshaping the axle back section, and welding.

The sound is awesome, deep and smooth, and I perceive no extraneous unwanted sounds.

My thinking is a good muffler shop equipped with a mandrel pipe bender could handle the task. But it should be pointed out that MRT has experience doing this conversion, just not on a turbo Camaro. Until now, of course.

YQ4 HD Cooling/Brake Pkg

Underside pic: it is raining now but when things dry out will try.

I should give a shout out to BeckyD who tolerated a lot of ambivalence as to my choices, such as spoiler and GFX color (black or body color) as well as other LPO choices.

To Start the Machine: Thinking over your question, I am not sure if MRT can mod the axle blind and the four hangers on mine had to be moved, but if they could do such that would facilitate installing. But the bright trim (surrounds the tips) housing would still need to be cut so the new quad assembly can be fitted. But it does slide back into place and one can not see anything to indicate any cutting in that area was done.

What GM rear kit is that? It doesn't look like the stock GM#23404791.
I was really hoping there'd be an easy way to just get a new rear valence, and have a muffler shop cut the singles and weld on duals without having to get a whole new system. No such luck, apparently.

Looks nice!
