Thanks, yeah, I realize that I'd have to play the games with letting off. I hope you're right at about it being 2010+. After a few runs it'll be nice to get an actual time slip. I looked through the rule book and couldn't find that 2010+ comment, so I'm just going off of this NHRA quick reference guide they have.

have you ran your car yet lesbear? i have similar numbers on my car but mine is an a8 making 718/660 on 93 and meth. car previously ran a 10.82 at 130 but meth wasn't completely dialed in at the time so there's time to be made there but that's all the time we had to run at the track about a month ago, been dying to go back since. oh and i make runs at memphis international raceway and they've never said anything to me about any of that lol

just realized memphis is an ihra track and don't have the same guidelines as the nhra tracks so that explains that

Usually they follow the same safety guidelines. NHRA is the most recognized across the country so the IHRA usually does the exact same since most people build their cars to NHRA spec.

Additionally, requirements and specifications for Street Legal are the same as those for the Summit Racing Series with the following exception. Unaltered 2008 OEM model-year and newer production cars running slower than 9.99 and 135 mph do not have to meet the requirements and specifications for the Summit Racing Series except for the following: Convertibles and T-tops must meet Summit Racing Series roll-bar and roll-cage requirements. Note: Tires used may be other than OEM, but they must be DOT- approved. Other changes/modifications to items such as but not limited to intake air systems, exhaust systems, computer programming from the factory OEM equipment are considered “alterations.” As such, 2008 and newer vehicles with changes/modifications must meet the Summit Racing Series rules. All drivers must meet the Summit Racing Series helmet and protective-clothing requirements. I was wrong. It's 2008 and newer as long as it's not a convertible or t-tops.

Cut off that I saw looking through the NHRA stuff was 135 mph.
Some tracks are more surrent then others. It all depends on the area. A bunch of guys I know are in Memphis for this weekend, but they're all dedicated race cars and none of them are newer then the 2000 Camaro. Plus they all run faster then 9.99, so they all have to meet SFI specs.

Cool, thanks! Maybe I missed it but are you running DR's or slicks at the track?

2008 and newer "unaltered" cars (not verts) can run 10's and trap less than 135 mph with a helmet and SFI jacket.
Running slicks at those times requires drive shaft loops etc. Stock tires or drag radials not required. The real issue is what does "unaltered" mean. From what I've read, unaltered doesn't mean bone bone stock. It means the frame, fire wall etc must be unaltered. I actually think you can tub the rear and still be unaltered. So, nitrous, superchargers, turbos, bore n stroke, exhaust, cam etc we are good to go with a helmet and thin jacket. No slicks tho.

I have been warned at an 1/8 mile track since I went 6.86 so I slowed it down over a tenth and no problems. I was told by tech at gateway it was up to the tower since I was modified and running slicks and ran 10.80s all day with out a problem. Just added Meth and should go 10.50's in a couple weeks and we will see the tracks reaction then. I'll add a loop if I need to so I can run my slicks, cheaper then buying a dot set up.
