Potintenal buyer with questions

Hello
I have been looking at 2023 Camaro's to replace by RT Charger.
In FL the pickings are slim for what I am looking for. I want a rapid blue 2SS convertible. Dealer an hour away has one en-rout but will not budge from MSRP of $56K, & can't say when they will get it. They have a VIN. They told me it was in TX?

My questions are:
What are people paying real world for this car?
Having never had a convertible before, is the convertible top free of long term problems? In FL, it will be up more then it will be down, but with rain at an time, it may be up & down several times a day. I know people with sebrings & other convertibles & the tops were always a big problem.
I'm also hesitant about the soft top. Almost all the verts are hardtops now.
I'm also not opposed to getting a 2SS coupe. If that's the better way to go.
This would be my 1st GM product as well.

Thanks

If you can get MSRP in writing and any rebates and no markup, put a down payment.

It's well-known that the Camaro has outlived its expected life as it was supposed to be discontinued already. Like most people interested in buying new right now, you want a specific body style in a specific color with a specific trim level. That's a lot of "hard to find" individual items that you're putting together making this a unicorn because you're looking "in your neck of the woods". If you can get MSRP, take it. But, beware of dealer add-on's and bogus / ridiculous "fees".

There are currently TWO cars "in transit" that match what you've listed. One has the upgraded infotainment and the other has rally stripes with all else being the same (both are A10). You can see them on Chevy's site and it shows the VIN's.

I'm not paying msrp...don't care what car it is. The dealer pulled the car I was looking at anyway. Until it comes in.
I'm now looking at a C7. No warranty on it though. Also decided if I get an SS it will be a 2SS coupe. I just can't trust the soft convertible tops in the long term in FL.

Then I suggest you look at another car, because the '24 has quite a price hike, and a good amount of dealers are already marking up '23s. I got one 13 dollars under, if I do get that $750 incentive anyway.

Have you looked at used Camaro prices? I bought my 2017 new and there's only about $1,000 difference between what I paid for it, at least last week when I checked. Bookmark some of the dealerships that don't haggle on price. They are still selling, not as fast as new ones, but they are selling

Some people are getting chicken little about this, but you can currently find cars for MSRP, but availability does vary by area. There is only seven ~ more months of Camaro production and then that's it, No more ICE Camaro. People who are waiting can't wait anymore, That's part of it.

I wouldn't buy a C7 without a warranty, few reasons A8 , AFM / DFM (V8 to V4 ) problems read about them . And the Camaros MSRP would be a good deal , anything less good luck.

I got a $1200 discount on mine. However, after all of the BS fees I basically paid MSRP less the $750 rebate. Inventory is tight and dealers play that to their advantage.

I tried to negotiate with 3 different dealers with little success.

The C7 is a manual, & 2019's seem to be fixed. But yeah, the Camaro's even used ones are still too high. And I'm one of those that would only buy it in rapid blue. As my charger is B5 blue now & I like the color. The 23 chargers are being marked up 10K+ too. I just can't understand why people pay it. I may just get a Infiniti redsport cause those are not stupid priced on the used market.

If you can find a 2SS with your preferred options, at MSRP or better, then I would buy it. The big V8’s are all starting to disappear and will likely never return. It’s now or never to get a brand new v8 car.

A person currently with a Charger 5.7 who was contemplating a Camaro 2SS or a C7 is likely not going to be satisfied with a RedSport. I’ve had a RedSport among various types of vehicles. While the RedSport is a good car, there is no replacement for displacement.

There are a bunch for sale in fl if you know where to look. They go
Quickly though and what is said about not paying msrp is true.
You just need the right dealer, right car, right time. I just bought
A RS for the wife at $2000 under msrp, no incentives. Whats the issue
With verts? I have owned many in fl. Jim Brown in dade city has a nice
SS vert under msrp, $52k i think. I was close to getting a 22 ZL1 vert
For $63k but it was rapid blue. Cant have a ford mustang color. Maher
In st pete usually keeps a healthy supply of camaros.

I'd imagine you paid 2K under because it's not a V8. When I see ADM dealers, those are marked up 1K, when the V8 cars are marked up 5K

Yeah, good luck getting a 2SS under MSRP. They’re also going up by $2,600 for 2024 which will be a limited production year. And it looks like the $750 customer cash is just for the coupe. If you find one that checks all your boxes at MSRP that’s a win.

As far as the convertible aspect there are a few threads on here with good insight that can help you with that; just search. I daily drive my convertible and if it’s not raining the top is down. Absolutely love it.
