Optional OEM Fuel Door
Does anyone have installation instructions for the optional oem fuel door for the 2012 Camaro SS? I think the part number is 92212671.

Curious about the locking fuel door with "CAMARO" on it. Seen it on several sites, like the link below . Anyone have one? Happy with it?

I changed mine, not a locker though...just be careful taking off the old one...I'm sure there's a DIY on here somewhere...Its comes off a lot easier than you might think...

I was thinking functionality. In other words, keeping some scumbag from stealing my gas or worse.
I've seen plenty of pics of other Camaros that have them and they look good, usually. |

Yes it works. But you can also go to your local Auto Zone and get a locking gas cap. $8 vs $180

yep. I had a locking fuel door and then realized I could sell it and just buy the $8 gas cap.

I was told that, with todays newer vehicles, they are virtually siphon proof. I know I tried to siphon some gas out of my wifes '06 Trailblazer and the hose wouldn't go down the filler neck. Kept hitting some kind of obstruction.
If that's the case, then purchasing a locking gas cap or a locking fuel door would just be a waste of money. |

There is a locking pin on the bottom side of the optional fuel door you push in to lock it into place, preventing theft. I bought one for each of my Camaros and had them painted satin black to match my stripes. HATED the Defenderworx ones. They didn't fit right and required cutting away part of the fuel door arm. |

Dont have the locking one, just the optional OEM one. Theres just a little pressure tab on it, lift the tab, it slides right off. Attached the original picture of it.. but I didnt dig the metal finish, and it didnt go well with my color scheme, so.. plasti-dip to the rescue!!
