Nothing is more annoying than doing a telephone interview with an employer while your mother continues to call you even after you tell her that you need to get off the phone.
Probably screwed that job opportunity up.

It's not just him though, that's the scary part.
Honestly the fact that so many people on Camaro5 are defending the 5th gen's weight is just ridiculous. It's true that GM didn't really have a choice as to which platform to build the car on when development started, and there's really nothing GM can do about it anymore. But I can't imagine why a new, lighter, better performing platform is meeting so much resistance.

There were, what, three people in that thread that even hinted that the 15% reduction was absurd? And I don't necessarily think that having that opinion means that they were defending the current vehicle weight.
I think the point they were trying to make is that, arbitrary ultimatums are absurd. While I understand the reasoning, I can't help but wonder where this magical 15% number came from. Captain Awesome seemed to be the only guy who took it to a government conspiracy level, as usual

Well first off, Akerson talks out his ass all the time. So he may just be throwing out an arbitrary number.
The point is every GM platform needs to shave off a few pounds. I remember someone at GMI once compiled a list where GM products were close to or at the top of their respective classes in weight. So as for me, I welcome the fact that GM recognizes the problem and is actively working to fix it. Captain Awesome just needs to be banned.

I think they are aiming for the moon in hopes of reaching the stars with that number. I think fen Is right, and Akerson is pulling a number out of GM's ass. Or he flipped a coin.

If he's talking about the entire lineup then 15% may be possible. E2XX, K2XX, D2XX, O1XX, all new platforms that could be designed with weight reduction in mind.
