I do think the warning lights are just like last time I had them. It was caused by an electrical short, thus causing the warnings. Once I fixed the short (replaced the cable and gauge), everything was normal. This seems to be about the same issue, the ribbon cable is in bad bad shape at this point so I figure it's shorting out some where along the line.
That is likely indeed.

Don't feel bad about this, I still remember when I had to humble myself with the service advisor and tell him how I lost all clips to the driver side abyss when messing with the dead pedal, and that I had no idea how to get them back out or how to reattach the dead pedal

Ugh... I'm with you! My very first mod was a CAI. I went to disconnect the battery and immediately dropped the 10mm down in to the fender well, basically an abyss. I couldn’t get the wrench out. My hands and arms were too big and I couldn't get a magnetic telescopic extender to grab hold of the wrench do to the way it fell. But that same day, one of my neighbor’s kids came over to thank me for setting up the basketball hoop my kids used when they were little. He said “WOW! Cool car”. Then I asked if he could help me and grab the wrench I dropped down in the fender, and he did! So, there you go! Mistakes are plentiful when I do DIY projects!

Update on the mod: I ordered a new clock coil spring from GM Parts and having it overnighted. Not funny, the shipping was more than the part! If I fail this time, it will be going to my local Chevy service center to have the repair made! I honestly think my clock coil spring housing and the "insert" were not correct "engaged" from the factory. I've seen a lot of videos that basically show the two parts that make up the clock coil spring firmly together. Mine wouldn't stay snapped together at all. So, I really do feel this might have been ultimately due to that issue.

I've ignored this thread for a few months....holy cow! Talk about jumping in the deep end. Mine is staying bone stock but it's mainly because I figure I'll broom it within 2 years give or take. Never get mod $'s back and limits buyers. But good for you!

Facts. It's an expensive hobby and the car is stupid fast from the factory anyway...but some of us like to have 'more.'

Jus Cruisin - Love it !!!! I need to get some PICs of my neighbors 67' Z that has a blower on it you can hear from 2 blocks away !!!!

I ordered an original GM Clock Coil Spring for my 2023 ZL1, paid over night shipping so it will be here today. Took a part the steering column trim and removed the current one. So I'm ready to install the new one. Interesting thing, when I removed the old, 2 - clip tabs were lose in the housing. I'm still thinking this was messed up from the factory and why it sprung off the steering column all on it's owe as it did when I removed the wheel . O'well, I'll never really never know for sure.

Update: I got the new Clock Coil Spring and I think for sure, my originally one that literally just fell apart had to be a issue from the factory. The new one I would have to "force" it to separate the two pieces etc. Water under the bridge. Now: So to install the new wheel "straight" I marked a straight line on the garage floor that was perpendicular to the rear rim/wheel, I ran that line all the way past the front nose of the car. I then measured each side of the front rim and made sure the measurements were exact. I felt this way it would indicated if there was any left / right rotation with the front tires. So I think I have it on straight. But I also noticed the wheel has an arrow and the steering column where the wheel goes has a distinctive mark. My question is for anyone that replaced a wheel, is this an alignment mark for putting the wheel back straight? Thanks !

I sure would take that as an alignment mark.

So the marks in the photo above were spot on for the alignment of the wheel. Still getting all kind of warnings when I start the car: [Rear Axle System Off], [Service Power Steering], [Traction Control/StabiliTrak] light stays on, and something like [Power Steering Angle Sensor], but no check engine light. Also the codes I pulled are U0073, U0100 and U0140. I will take it to a dealer I guess. I couldn't imagine this would be an electric issue witch hunt but I'm not sure. Wow all this for replacing the stock steering wheel. Too bad I can't see the future before I do something !!!

This weekend I spoke to my brother in-law who knows everything car related. He even bracket races his original first year I-ROC Z he's bought and has built and re-built. He said, any time the car thinks something's up with the steering angle sensor, it can and will throw other errors too, including [Service Power Steering] & [Traction/StabiliTrak] etc. He said there's a tool I can get that will allow me to reset my SAS Steering Wheel Angle sensor (and a whole lot more) etc. So I ordered this one:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0854FNLTD...roduct_details

He said for it to be perfect, it should be done using an alignment tool/rack. But, I could probably get it close enough and clear the rest of the warnings. It will be here today so I will report back!

Update: So my attempt to "reset" my SAS (Steering Angle Sensor) to 0° failed. I spoke to my brother in-law who owns an auto service center about it. He asked me quiet a few procedural questions on what I did. He said there are multi steps involved that all have to be done exactly right for it to allow the calibration to work. It seems mostly to do with the clock coil spring and if it was set to zero (in the middle) when I installed it. I assumed it was, as there was a plastic pull tab that seemed to release the clock part inside the house I pulled out once I installed it on the steering shaft. So, I just assumed this was to be installed straight on and done. He said my Foxwell tool could read the current SAS position if I pulled the data. I told him I have no clue how to do that. So he offered to head over this evening and assist. So I'll report back any details as I've not found one post or thread or YouTube video that covers resetting the SAS. I assume this will happen to other wheel replaces at some point in time.

Just as a side note, I wouldn't attempt these procedures without checking the service manual first, there can always be small details that won't occur to me in a common sense thought process.

Totally agree !!! That's why I'm having a "live in person" service manual coming over this evening !!!! He owns a big auto/truck service center here in town. So I'm just going to let him do his things !!! I'm getting him his favorite dinner afterword's and a bottle of my Old Rip Van Winkle 10 year bourbon. It's not a real Pappy Van Winkle, but it's amazing bourbon non the less !

PS: How and where do you even get your hands on a 2023 Camaro ZL1 service manual if your just a regular car guy?
