Autographs On Your Camaro

I am sure most of you attending the Wednesday night Meet-N-Greet at the 50th Camaro Factory Fest in Lansing, had Al and Scott sign your Camaros. What do you guys and gals use to cover autographs on your Camaro's paint to preserve them? I know clear lacquer paint will not work, because it would make the ink run and wrinkle the urethane finish.

Use an expel or 3m clear wrap to cover them

Yeah, it's what they use for the clear bras/paint protection film.

It will eventually yellow with heat/sun exposure, though.

I think 3m may yellow but I haven't heard of expel discoloring

I live in a climate that sees minus 20, 30, and 40 degree nights regularly in the winter, and unless you have $1,000 per month to heat your shop, everything metal in the building sweats moisture. I was afraid that the ink would not hold up to that.

Thanks, everyone for your suggestions. I ordered my XPEL 2" x 12" strip direct from the company this morning. It was only $1.41 and they guarantee it for 10 years not to yellow. The shipping was $6.99.

When I worked at Lexus, I was in charge of cutting the PPF for the clear bras. We used both XPEL and 3M, and after about 4-5 years, both would start yellowing. It was only really noticeable on white cars, though.

The Xpel film worked great. I cut a 1/4 radius on the corners so they would not snag as easy when cleaning with a towel.

Looks good.
At the risk of sounding stupid, I will ask anyway.
I assume the person signing your car is either Al or Scott but who is Al and Scott?
