I was interested in the SS3 but they dont list any specs on their website. Tried getting ahold of them on here and didn't get a response. Just submitted a message through the contact form on their website (they have no phone number listed either..). If I don't hear back soon I'm going with a custom grind from Pat G.

Ryan ran 10.3 NA with the SS4VVT I have, and 9s on some spray with that setup.

I used to run the TSP 235 239 when it was .639/.623 and 112 LSA it made great power and was a comp cam core though I do a break in with BR30 driven racing oil. Now most manufacturers offer 8620 cores a little Harder and that's better because not so many do a break in because they think they don't need to break in a roller cam, driven racing proven them wrong in Joe Gibbs racing engines with br30 for Nascar proving a 400% increase in longevity in LS type engine cam failure rate versus over un broken in cams on a stand for Nascar with roller cams. Yup I do my research the BTR is good, Cam motion, Tick Polluter, etc, etc, etc its all in what you want, many tried a grind called the night fury with cam specs a little under the TSP 235/239 and like it., Many have tried many different grinds with out names, some vendors on here and else where sell others cams calling them what they will having them made up by others.
Its more in what you want it to do and how you expect it to perform than you know when it comes to duration and LSA. So go with a good core at least is my recommendation, many also custom spec their cams as I did for the one I am running now.

I almost...almost...asked BTR to grind a stage 3 on a VVT core with a bunch more advance. I was on the phone and email for quite a while discussing it, but I chickened out and just went with a "proven winner", an SS3 from GPI straight off the shelf. I hope to get it in the car within the next month.
I may have screwed up a budding friendship established with BTR since they are within an hr. of my house, but I couldn't quite make the leap off of what Ryan has been doing with VVT tech. I wish every 5th Gen owner could have the trouble of choosing between who I believe are the best in the business. I do not mean to sell anyone at Mast or TSP short. There are so many great minds working on these engines (even being the first), but Brian Tooley and Ryan Stevens have really taken these core LS & VVT tech'd LS motors to places we could only dream about 20 yrs ago.

Hopefully no one runs a gpi vvt cam in your area, you won't be too happy when they pull harder than you.
