Since I'm Canadian I guess the Camaro would be domestic built car. But most cars here are built somewhere else are imports to to us. But I still think the Camaro is American. Designed by Americans by an American company.

Did you consider the CF4 (4th gen) Camaro/Firebird an import?
Do you consider any other GM car made in Canada an import? Do you consider the recent GTO an import? Think about it...

I agree completely.... this is a pointless topic. Why does it matter? I would rather the next car that I buy be assembled in a factory that was awarded the highest initial quality in North America than worry about where it is being assembled. I hope this thread was just intended to spur conversation since this board has been kind of slow as of late and it is not a serious concern. If it really is a concern then point your fingers at the UAW not GM.

That is my feeling about the topic...I think it was just put out there as a point of discussion/thoughts and nothing more.

Feisty bunch today aren’t we! This topic was posted to find out what most of your opinions are. As for the GTO, yes I consider it an import, it’s a re-badged Holden but I still like it… Oh and for the board being slow right now, find me a 5th generation Camaro board that is not! We need GM or someone to leak us some info to hold us over.

As for your other comment about the need for GM to give us something to nibble on... I am in COMPLETE AGREEMENT! We really need something! Just hoping that there is some info that comes out of the SEMA show. |

And ironically, the majority of the Camaro will be made in the USA, it just will not be assembled here. Honestly, there is not going to be a single production vehicle that is made completely in one country.
