If you are thinking about selling your ZLE, DON'T!

Last year I sold my 2018 ZLE for a 2006 Aston Martin. Fell in love with the looks of the Aston. It's a great car, lots to love about it, my first Aston........but lately I've been really missing the pure animal that is the ZLE. A good friend of mine, who owns a Shelby 350R, and I go driving in the mountains almost every weekend. He warned me not to sell the ZLE, that I would regret it, but I didn't listen. There is a red ZLE running around here that I've seen a lot lately, and every time I do I just shake my head, "What the hell was I thinking!" Ugh, anyhow, just like the title states, if you are thinking about selling yours, don't do it, I promise you you'll regret it.

I'd get another one if you really regret selling it before it will be really hard to get one in decent shape.

Completely different animals…. The Aston would never be what the ZLE is and the ZLE would never be what the Aston is.

BTW…if you bought a DBS…it’s one of the few cars I’d rather have over the Camaro! DBS is one of the ultimate pantie-droppers…!

A refined British sports car vs an American hooligan muscle car. Both are great!

The Vantage is a gorgeous car! If you’re after a V8 Vantage though I think the motor got improved in the ‘07-up cars…

Just a completely different car than the ZLE. If you never track the ZLE, maybe the Aston makes sense. My wife doesn’t really enjoy driving in the Camaro…

I had an aston martin. The parts for those cars are astronomically expensive. Ill keep my ZLE though.

I bought used and saved a bit, but im not keeping it for appreciation, i drive it every summer.

I really like the livery you have there on the Austin.

I don't miss my ZL1 1LE in the slightest. I do, however, want to get a C5 or C6 Z06 and make that a fun twisties car. Although I'm probably going to buy a Porsche next, if I'm being honest. It's all perspective.

As someone with an SS 1LE that feels the same way.. I can only imagine that the feeling would be massively amplified with a ZLE

Same, I don't miss my ZL1 at all. Sure it is a fun visceral car but 98% of the time you can't enjoy what it is capable of. If you have access and can afford to hit the track or live in a rural area with some nice backroads then that would make it a lot more fun to own.

The main difference is power the in the 100mph+ range, which is pretty difficult to experience without risking your license. IMO, the SS 1LE is more enjoyable on the street. Shorter gearing, lighter front end, better balance, best bang for the buck. It is the sweet spot.

It looks like you may be financially well off since you have an Aston Martin, so why not add a ZLE? I'm on a waitlist for the Z06, but my ZLE is awesome so far that I'm entertaining bypassing the Vette and adding the last MY24 ZLE and have it turn into the Z28 that GM never built with the cost difference between the 2 cars. I know the C9 Z06 will be faster than the C8, but there will never be another ZLE.
