I for one like the "midlife crisis" idea, if they're right I'm on track to live to 132!

The C7 is amazing and a dream car for every age. The MSRP was set to make it accessible to younger buyers and appears in Gran Turismo 6 for youth appeal. Gor for it! If you buy anything else you will regret it every time you see one of us pass you. Everyone who rides with you will see what you see. (44 yrs old)

Driven daily since October 4. Plenty of room for most purchases. Anything too big have delivered or borrow a friend's truck. If you intend to drive in the winter with temps below 40 degrees, get a set of all-season tires. I've even driven mine in several inches of snow with little difficulty.

I didn't tell anyone I had one ordered, everyone I know had nothing but good things to say once I got it and wanted a ride once they saw it.

I LOVE my mid-life crisis. I drive by a high school on the way to work every day and you should see the reaction from the kids as we pass. They love it. Got a buddy who bought a Carrera S last year and asked him if anyone ever comes up to him at the gas station, grocery store, etc. to ask about his car. Simple reply..."No!!".
As far as space, I've had a 26" suitcase, two 20" carry-ons, an overnight bag and garment bag in the back for a trip. Groceries aren't an issue. |

I'm only 30 and look quite a bit younger than that. Personally, I don't give a damn what people think about the car I drive as I buy these things for me and no one else. My current car is a BMW E89, before that I had an E90 335i and there were plenty of people who couldn't understand how I could afford it, but at the end of the day, that's on them.

I believe you shall find the demographics on Corvette buyers and Porsche buyers fairly similar. The older one is the more one can afford an expensive sports car. The older one is the more disposable income and savings, less kids at home to support and send to college, etc. In fact, I would argue that the C7 shall attract more younger buyers than Porsche due to price everything else belong equal, which they are not as I see the C7 on par or surpassing the Porsche.

After everything I've read and after driving both the 911 Carrera S and Corvette extensively these are my thoughts:
(1) Corvette really does smoke the base 911 or the Carrera S. In order to beat out the Corvette you have to step up to the GTS or Turbo model which price out to about 140k and 180k respectively. I would rather have a 75k corvette and invest the other 75-100k but that's just me. (2) Porsche guys will always be Porsche guys - and I think that's great - people should be loyal to their brands and the Porsche has a iconic design - i would even say it's a bit cleaner than the Corvette. I just couldn't pull the trigger on a 911 because the new C7 seats are freaking amazing. For anyone on the fence, just sit in both cars and tell me what you think. Also - I really did like the value of the C7. Yes I can afford a 90k car but that's not a reason to spend the extra money. In the end it's a personal decision - people need to buy what makes them happy. |

Your last sentence says it all! If you don't have a smile on your face when all is said and done, you've missed the point entirely!
