No need to explain. I earn all the money so I never consult with my wife. I didn't even tell her I was buying my Camaro. I told her generally that I was looking for a car but not when I was going to purchase.

Same here, I even try the "but it will help it get better gas mileage" thing, but she doesn't buy it.

Married 13 years, together 15. It's not so much getting permission, it is being honest in asking if it is cool to spend communal funds on things. She asks on large purchases, as do I as a courtesy. It all comes out of the same place for us, but I manage the funds. But for me it is a respect thing that I talk to her about big mods that I would like to do.

Single guys (yes, those that are not married are still "single" at tax time) listen up...

OP, I usually only disclose mods over $100.

Sometimes I save those up though. LOL and I did forget a couple things I ordered until they showed up, so it fit those above referenced memes perfect.

this is pretty funny, i will give my wife a heads up if im going to spend big money on something out of the norm but every one trys to "fudge" the numbers. but dont lie to your self they do the same thing.

Not quite the same,but after installing the VTC and V-Max throttle body, my wife took the Camaro to the store, she gets back and what do I hear.

Agreed,

When she goes to get her hair done I always laugh when she say it only cost $50.......I pay all the bills so when I see the charge for $89 at the hair salon it cracks me up.....both sides do it.

As long as it's not harmful to the family budget or cost of living both sides deserve to treat themselves once in a while.
