I've been 165 in an electronically simulated highway space and she had so much more to go.
The 1LE felt so planted, too.

Don't think so in that specific case - it performs flawlessly for where it was built - the road course...

Really
Let me get this right. According to the post the 1LE equipped ZL1 is faster than the standard ZL1. Both cars are similarly is almost all aspects, and yet the car with more down-force (drag) and smaller diameter wheels has a higher top speed. Is the shorter final drive ratio enough to overcome the increased drag and smaller wheels?

The standard ZL1 M6 struggles to reach its top speed in any reasonable distance because the engine rpm/power isn't quite enough. The ZL1 1LE has a different 6th gear ratio compared to the standard ZL1, enabling it to have higher engine rpms in the 170-200 rpm range, therefore it should be able to hit its top speed of 191 mph or whatever it is. The final drive ratio is the same for both cars (M6). |

Wyndham’s comment (he can correct if I’m mistaken) about the bog issue not applying to the 1LE was more about when the bog presents itself. The 1LE is for road courses where launch isn’t as important. If a 1LE lines up for the quarter mile it would bog just like the non-1LE M6. The point was that’s not for where it was built.
