I ignored the recall, but when I got my new SS last month, the recall was done already. All cars purchased by dealers immediately have the recall done, nothing a buyer can do about it.

right but i have seen the new keys and cant picture how it can be converted. isnt it a straight key where the switchblade is short and has the pivot point right?

There is a rfid chip in the Fob. Not the key.

I just went out and started my car with just the key, the key fob is in the house. There's a chip in the plastic of the key.

That's what I thought too, but when I bought my SS back in September they didn't do the recall. Told the dealership about it and they apologized and begged me to come in, but I did it else where since i bought it from out of town.

What's a recall?

I cannot speak from experience but I am guessing that those facing the recall are either people that bought their camaro post recall or those who went out to get the key fob "fixed." I was told about it when getting oil change, and simply denied it without any problem or any signature from my part. Could calling the dealership and tell them to put it back work?

When they do the "recall", if I take in one FOB, the will hack it and give me two poverty keys? I'm thinking of letting them do it, then reverse the "recall" on my hacked FOB, then have a spare key to keep in my wallet.

Can I get one of these new uncut modules from ebay and just swap out my existing key?
How hard is it to relearn?
Thanks in advance
