How did the guardrail do that...I’ve never seen one move, unless it’s hit by something.

A 20-year-old Plant City man was seriously injured Thursday night after he lost control of the car he was driving on the Selmon Expressway and hit a guardrail, which Florida Highway Patrol troopers said “impaled” the car.
Terrell J. Rollins III was driving a 2010 Chevy Camaro east on the Selmon about 11:45 p.m. Thursday in the area of 78th Street South when he lost control and hit the guardrail.
Rollins suffered serious injuries and was taken to Tampa General Hospital. An investigation was ongoing and troopers said it was unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, troopers said.

the inherent problem with these type of guard rails.. If you hit them square on the end they will slice right through the car

They are designed to be overlapped in such a way as to not peel up like that. However, if you hit them 'backwards' they will peel apart and become a spear that will go right through a car, and any soft parts in the car.

I still take old fashion guardrails like this over the guillotine cables they are putting everywhere over here in Michigan.

I HAD to drive without a Seatbelt yesterday as my Seatbelt Receiver broke. I had never driven without a belt before. it sucked, I had to keep it under 120
