I'm about to dive into this project but had a couple of quick questions. Are these the right toilet bolts and also does the extractor only fit into the tray one way? Someone said to put it in first so the bolts make an indent so you know where to drill the holes, but the stock bolts on the extractor are just too short to touch the tray for me.

Quick update guys!!
So I needed longer bolts for my drip tray in the front so I went to Home Depot and found these!!! Not only do they sit flush in the area where the OEM bolts go on the extractor , but coupled with the white washer that come with the toilet bolts they sit NICE and firm. I also used a washer and a lock nut on the bottom to for added stability and it works great Here is a pic of the bolt from Home Depot |

Can you get a part number for that bolt or something so I can get my Home Depot to look it up? What type of packaging was it in? Square head? How long was it?

The bolt did not come in the package it came single and is sold that way... It is 5/16, 3" length...
If u need to, just show them the picture on here... They should find it from the picture... Also I used some washers (metal) to also help secure... |

Just to confirm will this work for a 2011 SS hood? Or would there need to be extra modifications?

This is my 2011 hood and works perfect! As stated previously, will work on any hood, 2010- 2013.

Anyone use a jig saw? Did the metal of the hood want to bend up in jagged edges?

I used a Ryobi jigsaw and it worked just fine. No the hood didnt want to bend up. You might also want to by some aluminum plates and fit them to the edge as the hood gets real flemsy after you cut and as you put the extractor in the hood can flex. With the plates (you can get from home depot, size 2x1/8) it gives the hood support for the extractor.
check here in post 102 for plates im referring too http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=318717&page=5 |

Worked fine on my 2011 SS hood. I bought the extractor from a local dealer and the raintray, templates, bolting from ACS.
http://www.acscomposite.com/project/...ategory=163626 There is an option to add in the templates for $25. Local dealer only charged $80 for the extractor so it ended up being cheaper to order all the parts that way. I used an angle grinder with an .045 cut off wheel. But I am a professional welder and fabricator and not everyone will be comfortable with that cutting tool. ZERO issues on my 2011. Took it through the touchless car wash and no issues. NO hood flex around the extractor either. 'Moe |
