sorry to see the damage. Hopefully you have a body shop you trust. Once they find the kid who did it, have their parents cut you a check. That should hopefully take care of both the punishment and restitution. You do not want to put it on your insurance if you can help it.

Can the panel be fixed without using putty? How much would it cost for a new one, painted?
How about the trunklid? |

The sucky think is that the rear quarter window has to be remove because the trim around it is part of the window. My guess is that they can get a chunk of that dent out but it will probably still have to have some bondo to get it completely smooth. My paint shop bill was almost $1k so expect something like that.

What to do.
1) File a police report with as many known facts as possible 2) Get your witness to sign a notarized statement that he a) saw it being done on the exact same date and time as you claimed it was done in the police report. and b) have your witness identifies the villain. 3) Notify your insurance company of the Vandalism, and get three estimates for repair making sure you get the quality you want so if it has to be blended it will not be obvious to anyone 4) Ask the insurance company how they want you to proceed, telling them you have the notarized statement and a witness to the vandalism that was committed. Your insurance company will/should pay for repairs initially, and file claims against the perpetrator for reimbursement. If the villain was a minor, the parents can be held responsible for the TORTS commited by thier child. Assuming the villain is not an orphan or living in an non-parent environment, you should be in luck! |

Sorry about your ride, first do what htron50 posted. Then take some time and find yourself a body magician, that stone hitting the contour on the roof panel will make it even harder to fix. It's right in eye level that doesn't help, good luck hope that little puke gets his A$$ kicked from several people.

The admiration factor is slipping into jaded jealousy now...
Had a guy throw his door open right into my driver door on purpose awhile ago. People suck.

Not to slight in any way the damage to your car and what it will take to repair it, but how old is this kid and how close was he to your car to make dents like that? He should be throwing baseballs instead of rocks.

Im not sure how old. I'd say 13-16. He hurled it over the fence from the inside of the school into the parking lot. He could easily see from where he was all the cars in the lot. Maybe 15 to 20 feet away.
