Unsure if it is a direct replacement on the 6th Gen SS or not.

I know for sure that on the 5th Gen SS it required some dremel tool cutting on the grille to provide an opening I recall (bowtie mount on grille was solid not hollow for flow thru like on the ZL1's and Z28 Gen 5's).

That's why several just go with the black out bowties (much easier).

Isn't the flowtie an entire grille? Not just the insert. I believe the grille "diamonds" are shaped different on the ZL1 also. I don't think it'll match the lower grille diamonds. Different sizes and angles. Come to think of it, are the SS and ZL1 grilles even interchangeable? Aren't the front bumpers slightly different in the upper grille area?

You need the entire ZL1 upper grille. You have to remove the bumper to install it.

The grills are interchangeable. there is a video on YouTube that shows a guy installing it. Looks like more work than I'm willing to put in. If I'm pulling off the 40 screw bumper, I'm installing an intercooler lol

Hammerdown Motorsports installation video, http://https://youtu.be/ylVAejfn4zs

I know it's not a 1LE but I'm pretty sure there's not much, if any difference between the two.
