Chevy customer service says car is "In Transit"... should I believe it?
I called my dealer today to get an update on the status of my car. The last time I called was on 5/19, and he told me then that it was Bayed. I figured that it had something to do with the striping process. So I give him a call again today asking for an update, and he told me that it is still Bayed as of May 27. Since 5/27 was about a week ago, I figured that I'd call Chevy CS to see if they had more up-to-date info. According to CS, my car is "in transit" and should arrive anytime now. The rep said that she doesn't have an ETA though.
I would hope that my car would have been done the striping and QC process by now, so I'd like to believe what they told me. However, I know that Chevy CS hasn't been very reliable for a lot of people, so I'm not getting my hopes up too much. Was anyone else told by CS that their car was in transit, and if so, how did that turn out? Any other CS related stories to share?

Nope.
Do a search on Customer Service or 1-800 (fill in the blanks), you'll be surpised(?) that almost all the answers were either wrong, or they just call the dealer, etc.

Don't hold your breath until you actually see it at the dealership or in your garage.

Yep, according to CS mine is intransit as well. I don't believe intransit means "on the way" in GM-speak. I think it means it exited the factory, meaning it could be parked outside the factory doors for the next month and be considered intransit.

if it has to go to QC it could be a min. But from what I have seen cars have been in transit for about 1 to 2 weeks, barring any issues.

I had CS tell me that my car has left QC and is on a Train, when I asked if they were sure... they called back DBC who stated it was. In my case, I had been bayed and the status change is a positive thing.

Your order can say "In Transit" and not be moving. To all with factory stripes, it will go to "In Transit" as soon as it leaves to get striped in Whitby, CA, and then returned to the plant for a rail car. Unless your dealer or CS can give you a rail car #, your car is most likely still bayed waiting on a rail car. If you have a rail car #, you're in LUCK!!!!
