C7 Carbon Fiber Dash

Has anyone swapped the stock dash for the carbon fiber one? Does the carbon fiber look that much better?

Parts taxi has it for sale for $491
http://www.partstaxi.com/products.php?partID=2590

How much work am I looking at to make this swap? Has anyone had the dash bezel off yet?

Check with Stingray, he had his done after delivery. It looks much better than plastic.

Yes, and what a big aesthetic difference and upgrade. I had mine courtesy installed at a local dealership. IMO well worth the $491 price for the same CF dash that was a $995 RPO option. Btw, on a 1LT it'll be unique and not often seen since RPO "FAY" is presently available on 2LT and 3LT models only. Build one at the Chevy website and you'll see what I mean.

There's a DIY thread on another C7 forum if you plan to tackle it yourself. Not overly difficult, just time consuming and you'll need the proper tools to do it right.

I was wondering how long it would take them to come out with an aftermarket carbon fiber dash.

Do you happen to have any pics of it installed? Just curious what it looks like.

This is the same OEM carbon fiber dash from GM which I prefer therefore not aftermarket. In fact, mine was shipped directly from Bowling Green back in November... so it looks exactly the same as the CF dashes you see in other C7's with the FAY option. GM part no. 22826760. Here's a pic prior to installation.

That's really cool, I didn't realize that it was the same OEM dash.
