The bigger questions you should ask are :

1. Do you want your exhaust note to sound really raspy?
2. Are you going to tune your car immediately after you go non catted?
3. Do you understand that taking off the cats on a bolt-on LS3/L99 car has zero gains in power?
4. Can you deal with the extra smell that comes from not having cats?

If you answered yes to all of those questions, then going catless is for you.

Depends on the application and the location. With modern high flow cats there is essentially no performance advantage to a cat delete. They flow 99.9% as well as straight pipe. On a dyno you might see 1-3 rwhp in the mid RPM range. Going with cat deletes does cost less but there is the smell of running without cats. Depending on where you are located there are potential legal issues and the inability to pass emissions testing and inspections.

Do you still need to tune it if you go with cats?

Yes, because the O2 sensors are still moved back due to the Long tube headers. Either way you need a tune.

We suggest going with cats. They are a bit more expensive, but the sound/smell and potential legality issues offset the cost. Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

I personally haven't had cats on a car in 15+ years. The only reason I see to use them is for inspection purposes. The smell isn't any different to me as most high flow cats are almost just as high flow as the pipes. And needing a tune won't change either way. None of the high flows on the market gaurntee no check engine lights. I personally wouldn't install headers without tuning it even if not right away. That's just my .02

That way your buddies will actually follow behind you down the road and not get the smell.

yup, I cranked mine up before installing the cats... while it was on a lift. It sounded awesome, but it was a stinkfest.
