Just have the owner post a pic of the rear. The vid really looks like non led. If he does have a '14, I would say mostly driver experience as the 5.8l should run the quarter a good 1/2 sec quicker all things equal.

He was not at the last test and tune. I think he said he was from the central coast area of Calif. (Ventura?) , I'm not sure. I live in Bakersfield and have not seen the car around here during the day. I have no reason to lie about this race, I saw the 5.8 on the blower when his hood was up after our run. We talked, I think he said he set the launch rpm @ 3,000 for his first run (against me), so yeah , there could be some getting use to the launch control. I agree I should not have won the race so easily (3 carlengths) because I was 300 lbs heavier and 106 hp less (factory rating), but that's racing.

I've seen the Evolution video of the first GT500 in the 9's (9.95 @ 142+) and the mods they did to that GT500 were the exact same mods I was going to do if I had bought the Mustang. I know they are fast. But in the end, I didn't need a 3rd race car. We are in the process of building the SRT-10 engine and adding about 200 rwhp (heads , cam , custom intake, solid roller, 11:1 compression, forged rods and pistons) as I have gone 11.63 on the pure stock internals. I also have a 2000 Firehawk, that is having a custom built 433 cubic inch LS1 at LME (Houston). It will have ETP heads, and a Harrop Hurricane Intake (8 individual throttle bodies, search google for a picture). So that's why I choose the CTS V, for a daily driver and I have an extended warranty. I think a 118.91 mph daily driver is cool. Plus the young kids don't expect a 67 year old grand pa to shift like I do.

Definitely looks like the older style tail lights in the video. Way to slow for a 13/14 GT500 either way.

I'm not doubting what you saw, but the video shows what seems to be an earlier model tail light. Could the video be of another persons GT500 that night?
The performance numbers make sense for the older model.
I tried looking at the wheel rims as well, but they are after market.

I re- watched the video one more time and noticed one other item placing that car in the video as possible 11 or 12 model. The SVT performance package (PP) for the '11 and '12 model years had twin thin lemans stripes over the hood, top and deck lid ( which was optional as a delete). That car in the video bears the unique performance package stripe. These stripes were used during the two years mentioned above. I'm not sure about the '10 model or if it has the PP.
The '13 and '14 GT500 with or without the track package or PP had a lemans stripe with wider twin stripes. I think the wider stripes were matte, but definitely have wider stripes.

I'm wondering if the video was a shoot of someone else's white car that night. Everything the OP states about the settings and what he saw under the hood matches the latest model. The video shows an older model. Hmmm....a mystery.

I give up. The quality of the video makes it hard to see the details you guys are talking about. The taillights are barely visible, there's tire smoke, etc. Aftermarket wheels? I shopped for one of these GT500's and I know exactly what the 821A Perf. Pkg wheels looked llike ( I don't like black wheels, so I would have ordered the car without the 821A Perf. Pkg.) Sorry this caused so much doubt. I am a member over on the SVT Performance website....and several members were in the mid to low 12's their first or second trip to the strip....with a lot lower DA than that night. You guys can think what you want, I saw the car in fine detail, it was a 2014...there was not another white GT500 at that test and tune...that is my CTS V in the video....that is my friends voice on the video...it was not mixed up with another car.....I just thought the Camaro guys would enjoy this. Peace out.

Next time you see him at the test and tune, just take some closer pics of the car, especially the back end. Everything you describe about what you saw on the car sounds like a '13 or '14. The pics just look like an older model and the performance numbers match that of an older model with a decent driver.
Look at the video real close when the car pulls up slowly after the smokey burnout. The cars view is being blocked except for a small opening which the tail lights appear slowly and you can see the stripes. After both cars leave, you can't tell as the tail lights look all white.
The CTSv is badass car and is fricken fast. I own a '12 GT500 with the PP ( black on black with stripe package) and is modified ( 569 whp). I also have 11 SS as well.

Guys......There are some dead give aways that this IS in fact a 2013-14 GT500........Trust me, I had a 2012 GT500. Ill give you a hint. Look behind the back wheels on the bottom of the 1/4 panel and look at the rocker panel covers. What color are they?? Do they match the color of the car or are they dark grey? That should give it away.
Just because it ran slow doesn't mean that is not a 13-14 GT500. Its all in the driver with these things.
Here is a pic of the side of my car. Up until 2012 they had the bottom of the sides and rear dark grey then changed that to match the body color in 2013.

I might be late to the party but those are NOT 13/14 tails, and dont appear to be the angle cut quad exhaust tips either.

(Based on the last picture posted)

Edit
disregard: cant read

I have no idea what ohio snake is talking about..

its clearly led tails on the gloss black rear decklid panel, as well as 13/14 stripes.
