Known issues with 5th gen Camaros?

Hi, I am new to this forum, Camaros, and any car that is not a Nissan Armada/Titan/Xterra.

I am looking at picking up a used 2010-2013 Camaro SS as I'm not a fan of the 2014.

I want to know if there are any known issues I should out for when I'm looking around. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2011 2ss/rs. Zero issues at all. I think the 2010s had some oil pan gasket issues, but that is an easy fix

Spoiler nuts on early 2010's, Battery cables on early 2010's, Manual transmission on early 2010's, all of which should have been caught already. Other than that, very trouble-free, exceptional car. Only issue I had with my 2010 2SS was the spoiler nuts, easy fix.

2013 1SS Coupe w/ 11K miles here - had to have the MyLink system replaced (warranty). Other than that, zero issues.

I think it lifts thinks into the truck. Lol. I know it's an internal engine part under valve covers I think it pushes up on rocker to open valves for intake and exhaust but don't hold me to that I'm not one to open an engine up it scares me. I work on most everything else on my cars but engine internals.

One very serious issue the engineers have tried and cannot figure out how to keep from happening. It's an inherit design issue across all models of 5th Gen Camaro.

These cars have TONS of issues, most like any car however most people dont notice them or dont report them.

For a better understanding of the common issues, review the "Problem" forum on here by clicking this link: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=70

Most issues are small and will be fixed by the dealers/warranty unless of course you're into performance and modifying. Then theirs a whole list of upgrades you can do to "future proof" the reliability.

Cheers.

Wait and order the Stealth 6gen 3SS. It's reported that it will fix a number of problematic issues 5th gen Camaros have;

I owned a 2012 2SS. The stock clutch was horrible. The Transmission had a leak. The rear driver's side valve cover leaked oil. And the bolts attaching the Oil cooler were loose and needed to be adjusted.

Also be aware of possible leaks from the heater core.

Only issue on mine was the module control box and chip for the Heater/AC 2014 LS3
