I have a black ZL1 and have been thinking about getting the windows tinted. How many of you do this? I know years ago I put some on my truck and it scratched the tint so bad on my door glasses I could not see out of it at night, it was horrible. Is the tint better now? I would like to know what you think about tinting all of the glass,back glass included?

Have it done professionally. I know for some the temptation to do anything Walmart seems cool, but like everything else... you get what pay for. Go to a pro shop and get some nice ceramic tint.

Getting mine tinted the minute I get out of the "dog house" for buying the car. Go to a dealer like Lexus and ask them who they use. That will give you a quality company.

Tint all my cars....

The ZL1 has 35% all the way around. Not too aggressive but it does give it a bad ass sporty look.

That is what I forgot to ask is how dark. I have not heard of the ceramic tint? Just the sound of that sounds expensive,is it?

I did mine 20% all the way around and it's perfect. Normally I just will google local installers and read reviews... I did the ceramic tint on mine and love it. It is a little more expensive but it keeps the heat out really well and just looks really clean.

I also have a Black ZL1 and did 20% Ceramic Fronts, Rears & Sunroof along with 70% Ceramic on the entire Windshield.

it's not a ZL1, but as soon as i got it, it got Huper Optik 40 all sides and back and Huper Optik 50 on the windshield. It would look even better on a dark car!

I tint all my vehicles. Have been since I got my license back when inwas 16. 5% all the way around. Cant drive a car with out it.

There is a HUGE difference in heat blocking with the ceramic vs. conventional tint. Ask your tint shop for a demonstration. I paid $250 to have my Camaro sides and back window tinted in ceramic, though I get a good price since I use the same shop a lot for cars. As to how dark, they will know what the legal limit is in your area.

I just had mine done yesterday in the ceramic tint, I went with 35% on the sides and 20% on the back, it looks real good and the inside is much cooler. I would post some pics once I figure it out.

Don't do it yourself or go somewhere cheap. The difference between the job on my Camaro and the job done by Ziebart on one of my other cars is night and day.

25% tint $220

I highly recommend SunShade Window Tint in Troy, MI if you're in the Detroit area.
