Hello guys,

I just placed an order on a Arctic White Corvette Z51 1LT with the NPP and black aluminum rims... :-) While searching for the right place to order my vette, I was told by two dealers that no Z51's were in production at all. This information was dated as of 11/14/2013. Can anybody hopefully contest this information? Thank you guys.

This is absolutely not true. Dealers who are active on various Corvette forums have weekly Z51 allocations. Your dealer may not be able to get any as they are harder to come by but they absolutely do exist.

My own car (Z51, CF roof) was at 1100 status until Thursday and then went to 3000 status which means accepted by production control. That is, my order with Z51 is picked up and will get built. It may still be a bit of a wait but these cars are, in fact, being built.

Oh I completely agree with you. The two dealers that I went to said they were all out of allocations for the year, supposedly, and may have been only saying that so I would have put the order in with them and waited for allocation. One of the dealers had 14 allocations that were all filled up. The (way) smaller and third dealer was much more friendly and had 4 allocations left. I took one of them. I was just worried about what they said however I'm glad to hear your car went to 3000, hopefully 3300 soon!

I've been told I'm next in line for a little over a month now with no progress at all and seeing that Z51s are going through I'm starting to wonder what the likelihood of my dealer not receiving a single Z51 allocation in over a month. Maybe I should try another dealer.

How big is your dealer - does it deliver 600 new vehicles and/or 10 new Corvettes a month?

The Z51 was on limited constraint through the whole of the first year of C6 production and there is no indication the first year of C7 production will be markedly different. That is said to indicate there is a chance your dealer will be allowed to put a Z51 order in but the odds improve the bigger the dealer is.

No idea, but I was told they are definitely top 450 vette dealer and closer to top 200. They received a premiere edition which from my understanding/was told only the top 450 got one.

At one time six but now I believe eight Chevrolet dealers sell over half of the Corvettes built. That means each sells 75/year on average except the three largest likely sell twice that number. PE Editions went to dealers that delivered seven Corvettes for the 2012 model year.

There are two considerations: allocation first and Z51 second. And if one goes to one of the biggest the biggest will stay the biggest which depending on ones philosophical life outlook may be good or bad.

So this is the situation you are facing. My thinking is I like to know then decide based on what meets my needs. And that is in total not just for the moment.

My z51 just went to 3000. They are being built. They are being ordered and accepted. My dealer Has the most vette allocations in my state and I'm very pleased.
