I put Hotchkis lowering springs on my 2001 WS6. Loved the ride height, handleing, and look. So they Hotchkis will be what I go with on my 2010 SS.

With the quality companies that we have making suspension parts for our cars, it would be good to consider them as well. The chasis design is VASTLY different than the gen 4. This chassis doesn't require the bracing that the gen 4's NEEDED. I'm sure Hotchkis is good but not many people on here are sporting them, so feedback is pretty lacking for them. They are also quite a bit more expensive than most of the others. From looking on their site, their stage I TVS is what's in Pfadts stage II package and Pfadt is $220 cheaper right now.

You are correct. There are many quality options for lowering your 5th Gen. That said, we all do things differently.
We do not list a specific drop for our lowering coils because the OE coils and vehicles deliver in a range of heights. Rear ride height, measured from the bottom of the wheel rim lip, up through the wheel center, to the painted edge of the fender. This methodology eliminates variation from tire size and inflation. Using 20" wheels, the average ride height for a 5th Gen is 694mm front and 700mm rear. We have measured them and found difference of 15mm which is 5/8s of an inch. The only way to know the specific ride heights of your Camaro is to measure it. 220032 Front Lowering Coil Ride Height 657mm or a 37mm drop from the AVERAGE OE ride height. It is a 1.45" drop from AVERAGE OE Height. Measure your 5th Gen ride heights using the Pedders methodology and you will know exactly where your Camaro will stand with a Pedders lowering coil. 220033 Rear Lowering Coil Ride Height 660mm or a 40mm drop from the Average OE ride height. It is a 1.57" drop from AVERAGE OE Height. Measure your 5th Gen ride heights using the Pedders methodology and you will know exactly where your Camaro will stand with a Pedders lowering coil. 220035 Rear Lowering Coil Ride Height 675mm or a 25mm drop from the Average OE ride height. It is a .98" drop from AVERAGE OE Height. Measure your 5th Gen ride heights using the Pedders methodology and you will know exactly where your Camaro will stand with a Pedders lowering coil. Pedders coils are a work of art. Every single coil is load cell tested and then verified to be with a tolerance of +/- 1mm of stated ride height. This Quality Check is done on EVERY SINGLE COIL we make. When you are looking for precision and performance Pedders provides you with the specific data you need to know in advance of installation what your new ride height will be. |

BMR Springs
Does anyone know if the camber bolts are required to get within alignment specs for the 1.25" springs on a 2012 SS Convertible? Thanks!

Sigh...
The name of this thread is Best Lowering Springs. That means DSE coils and nothing else. They are the only company with the BEST spring rate for lowering. Lowering with a factory rate multiple coil is not good and certainly not the BEST way to lower. Why is everyone chasing the cheapest spring set when we know in advance it won't work well in the long run? |

Well, since my Springs utilize the Same Spring Rate as DSE's and are HALF the cost, I would say they are the Best!

Just curious. With Spohn lower control arms there is an optional mounting point 1" lower than stock. Unless you want smaller drag wheels (drag control arms only has stock mounting point). From a geometry point of view is the relocation a better option than a drop spring in the rear. If you wanted to do a 1" drop in the rear and a 1 1/4 in the front would you use drop springs in front and stock in back. Would you use drop springs in front and a matching aftermarket stock height spring in back to have the same spring rates, or would you use the stock location and a drop spring for the rear..... It just seems to me that you can use the retained 1" of travel with the drop mounting locagion
Did not mean to jack the thread but I am also looking at options available...
