Reverse light upgrade? Bulb or whole unit...
Looking for some LED or brighter reverse lights for my 2011. I've searched the web for LED replacements but have come up empty.
Anyone have options?

I'd also like to know about this. The only solution I found is the one by oracle, but there is no way I'm paying $200 for reverse LED lights.
I need to check what bulb it uses. The hassle is going to be having to remove the rear bumper, unless its accessible from underneath. |

You do have to remove the back bumper cover to access the bulbs for the reverse lights. Everything I've seen have been way morn that I wanted to spend, coming from AAC. Seems like a simple LED could be used for this application.

Just an fyi, I went this route and while it does help, the light output is still not the greatest. The look is definitely there, but if you have any tint, it won't be much improvement. I went ahead and bought a backup lamp that bolts on to the license plate instead.

The bulb is PH16W. That's what's stamped on the bulb. It's unfortunately not just a simple bulb we can replace. It's similar in design to a fog light in the sense it has its own little plastic housing with the nipples that you use to lock it into its housing. Seems a tad over-engineered for a reverse bulb.

http://www.carid.com/2010-chevy-cama...-25671147.html Here's links for how to take off the rear bumper. First link also shows how to put back on. 1)https://www.lingenfelter.com/PDFdown...L850161410.pdf Note - you don't have to do all the steps in this link, just the ones to remove & replace the rear bumper. Once you remove the rear bumper you have access to the back of the light housing, it’s a one piece unit, you don't need to remove the rear bumper wiring harness ... just unplug the bulb socket, remove the bulb and replace it with the led bulb. 2) Last edited by camguynj; 02-16-2023 at 03:51 AM. |

Hands down the best option.
http://www.automotivelightstore.com/...everseLED.aspx I bought these a long time ago, and by far the best money spent on "cosmetic" changes to my car. Before and after pics

The oracle kit is really the best route to ago in terms of effectiveness. Kinda just wish that someone other than oracle was making it, haven't had or heard of too many good experiences from their products. I made a thread asking the same question not too long ago, and a few people said that their reverse lights from them were actually behaving well, so I'd consider them. You could always warranty them should anything fail
