Any hog hunters here for advice?

I was invited to hog hunt this weekend in the middle of Texas. Since this would be my 1st, any advice from someone experienced would be accepted before I venture out. Thanks in advance!

Here... I've done it once outside Rock Springs, TX. They are mean, and will charge.

Placement is EVERYTHING....Use enough gun...Use tough bullets too.

I shot a decent sized boar once at about 90 yds, broadside, with a .375 H&H and 300 gr Swift A-Frames. Hit bones and the porker retained the slug! THAT is one tough animal.

Good luck!

If you think the rifle you're using is too much, it's not too much.

first off, just have fun on the hunt!
here in Kerrville area for pig i use ether of two AR15's i built one is in 7.62x39mm or the other one i built in 300 blackout, both are carbine length, both work fine on pigs with proper shot placement. I have not tried any of my 5.56 guns on pig yet.

BTW, pork backstraps make a fine meal!

Based on title, location, and the responses... I'm still not sure if this is about feral hogs or fat women. Someone help me out.

Lol...wild feral hogs. I'm going to give it another try this weekend. I browsed at a few rifles, but still need to do more research. So, I'll take the dogs again and a couple of knives.
