I used the 04-07 CTS-V rear calipers on my 1SS. I only needed to do the standard flip on the bleeders and hard line. Additionally; I have not heard this mentioned before but the 04-07 rear calipers have to be notched for clearance as was the original SS calipers. I found it to be alot cheaper to buy these calipers than the much newer versions when the only difference is a factory machined notch.

Can you post pics of where you notched the calipers? and did the rear CTS-V go on your front? original rotors or CTS-V rotors? Any other specs when looking for those calipers ie 17 or 18 inch wheel on the CTS-V?
Also Pete said "The rear calipers on the CTS-V and SS are the same" I asked that on another thread and Pete said they where 4 pots? Thanks trying to get this sorted and installed - Doug |

Up front, the 2009 CTS-V 6 pot caliper is different than the SS 4 pot front. The CTS-V uses a larger front rotor. The CTS-V rotor fits on the SS hub and is required for use with the CTS-V six pot caliper. We used the 2009 CTS-V brake setup, because we had a fair idea they would be used on the ZL1. |

Ok I am almost with you on everything but if CTS-V rear are 4 pot and so are SS then why put the CTS-V rear calipers on the SS?
Thank you for your patience, I am sure I am not the only dumb one in class today. |

The ONLY reason to sway out the rear SS calipers for the CTS-V rear calipers is to match the color. It has or had nothing to do with function.

JusticePete, are the front 04-07 CTS-V 4 pistons the same/will they fit on the rear?
