If MTI is worried about their tune on a car being tuned by someone else and something goes wrong and don't want to get the blame for it, why don't they just have said person sign a waiver or a release form saying they (MTI) aren't responsible for any actions thereafter, and unlock the tune????

The car had not been able to start on the first try since it left HPS. It had gone back there, and they couldn't figure it out. Sure, there may be other people on this thread or in town that can do well too without locking it, but as far as the work was concerned, it was done well.

I have not found a single person that got anything good from HPS. I feel bad for people that went there, but they were not the only game in town outside of the big two either. I totally get where MTI is coming from, but it does not make me want to do business there as a result of this practice.

What you don't understand Johnny is that I am leaving the area and I cannot get work done by a shop that is going to lock me out of doing something down the line without going back to stock. It is circumstances for me. I met you guys last year at the CHP show in Commerce and was seriously thinking about paying for the best. I know you guys have a reputation, but I cannot have a locked tune when I will be 800 miles away and doing more mods.

Any "REPUTABLE shop" as you put it in your link above will NOT lock the PCM as they have no "trade secrets" to hide. Should the customer decide to alter their current tune this is easily detected when they return by choosing to "compare files"

I understand there may be some confusion on your end only being with MTI for a few months and coming from selling brake pads, but TRUST ME customers do NOT want their ECUs locked.

Are you talking about Dynolab? If so it's a legit dyno. My old car has been on their dyno many times (mti's and vengeance as well) and was always within 5 or so...

And I'm sorry, that's ****ing ugly. I may be an engineer but I pride myself on my design work, and those lights belong on a Toyota Camry/Honda accord.

The front's not bad, but every guy knows... This baby's got no back.

EDIT: and to clarify, there's things that are matters of opinion: "I don't like the new design" is totally cool/valid/your opinion and that's great. The issue I have with this is an absolute lack of design initiative. There's no uniqueness, no passion in the design, no initiative to do something different/make something real. 5 seconds of looking at it tells you it's not the work of somebody who's passionate about what a "Camaro" is rather this is their freshman design project. There *is* no design, there's reflector module 534A52B attached to rear assembly 567R Rev. C. Empty, soulless, and god-permitting I'm gonna strangle someone at GM
