That repair price is fair if it includes replacing the bumper cover. I got a new SS bumper cover and with paint it ran me $800.00 but I removed it and reinstalled it myself.

I have a pair of front bumpers right now I am working on. One is creased and cracked undernieth. The other one has front license plate holder holes and 10 holes for an SLP splitter.

One will remain on my Camaro and the other I will mount on my garage wall for a decoration.

wow, what a great idea, instead of fixing it, maybe upgrading to a new fascia. Going to start looking today. You guys are all awesome, thanks

yeah buying a new one and having it painted should be about the same price, it cant me more than 500 for the facia/bumper cover, and about 300 for painting (its less because there is less prep work like sanding and filler for the scrape) andit looks better!

and i bet she wont say a word about it either

I had similar damage to one of our other cars recently... In a parking lot. Don't play the blame game, you don't KNOW anything.

$900 seems reasonable. I was quoted $1700 for a 2005 Malibu bumper and a head light.

In Oklahoma City area I find that to get a high quality respray of a bumper on the Camaro is about $800+, to do repairs on it would add a little more to the cost. A clear bra install cost is $750 for complete front, mirrors, part of hood...well worth the price if you consider how many times you could run into things, get hit by rocks, and may limit or eliminate most of the damage from incidents like the one the OP is dealing with. Over time the investment will pay off by keeping the covered areas pretty well protected.

To keep your car looking good I would suggest some preventative maintenance. Dig a large hole somewhere deep in the woods, place your wife in it and return the ground to it's native state.

Huh? Both ADP and CCCONE use slang in their estimating systems. Both call it a cover.

Very fair estimate. I would have figured around the $1500.00 mark.

Just the opposite! It will be much more prone to rock chips after it's repainted. The factory paint is baked on. Most shops don't have this capability. I've had lots of them repainted and they always look great when they leave the shop, but after about a year they look like crap from all the chips! If it were mine, I'd have just that one corner painted so I wouldn't have to worry about chips all the way across the front of the car. A talented painter can blend the paint so you can't tell where the repaint ends and the factory paint starts.

ive delt with a lot of bodyshops and have learned that, if they dont have the proper equipment, dont take your car there

I hear you, but I've I've never seen a body shop with the equipment to bake the paint like the factory does. They may exist, but if they do, they are extremely rare and expensive.
