Header & Exhaust

Looking for some feedback on what header & exhaust combo to put on ZL1. I already have installed the big gulp and the roto-fab intake, looking at doing headers and exhaust without doing a tune if possible. Thanks Todd

Depends if you want more noise or not, I know that Corsa is like wake up the dead sound, Billy Boat is deep so is flowmaster, think Borla is in between.
No idea about Solo.
Magnaflow claims that there is an increase by 20-25 hp, but I'm not sure if thats backed up
As for headers I do prefer SW.

A little louder but not wake up the dead sound, looking for more performance gain.

Headers will definitely require a tune, and you don't need a new catback system. Longtube headers, cats or no cats, and stock exhaust and your car will sound beast. if you would like to hear my set-up, let me know and I'll post up the video.

yes they do. I don't see a way how you could install long headers on a zl1 without cutting the under belly.

I also have a cold start video on my channel.

you're going to love the way it sounds

i'm a big fan of the Stainless works headers for these cars, or kooks. got a few zl1 guy's running that setup. easy install and fantastic gains!!! if your's was my car i would leave the cat-back alone and keep the dual mode function.

I have not seen on verified set of longtubes yet that did not require the belly pan cut. I have seen all of the followign with pictures on a car and the belly pan was trimmed.

ARH
Kooks
Stainless works
texas speed
stainless power
dynatech

if the belly pan is that important you should run shorties and midepipe and just relize the gain won't be quite as good even thought the money will be the same.

it's just the belly pan.. I don't see what the bid deal is about cutting it.

If you go with long tubes, the belly pan will need to be trimmed regardless of brand. With our ARH shorties, no trimming is required and you’ll remain 50 States legal. We do offer 3” downpipes with or without cats you can upgrade too that will improve performance over the stock cats. On a ZL1 our shorties will work extremely well. You will see noticeable gains with slightly lower boost.

And, don't forget, that the COPO Camaro comes with OUR AMERICAN RACING HEADERS. We're very excited that GM chose our headers to put on their performance car. Actually, FORD and Chrysler have also chosen our headers to put on their performance cars too.

We also have a "Tech" line you can call with any questions you have. It connects you directly to the factory and the engineers. The number and times are:

Mon thru Fri 8:30 - 7:00 · Sat 9:00 - 5:00 (Phone Hours Only)Sun 10:00 - 2:00 (Phone Hours Only) (631) 608-1986
