Drive-in theater: Can you play the radio with engine off?
Ok, here's the deal. We have a new drive-in theater that recently opened up. They play the sound through your radio rather than a speaker on a pole like the good ol days. I can't figure out how to play my radio for more than 10 mins, or having the lights come on, etc. Please tell me my '14 can do this simple task like all the other cars at the drive-in.

Wow, you actually have a working drive-in theater! Cool! As for the radio, you need to have the car in accessory mode. Just push the start button, but without your foot on the brake (automatic) or clutch (manual). If the headlights come on, you'll just need to manually turn them off. Keep in mind there may still be a time limit, but it should be longer than the 10 minutes when everything is off. I've never had mine in accessory mode long enough for a movie, so I don't know if the time limit is long enough. If it does time out, you just need to hit the start button again to go back into accessory mode. Hope this helps!

I tried that too, but accessory mode only lasts about 10 mins. To make it worse, about halfway through the cycle, it turns on the interior lights! Looks kinda goofy with the top down and the lights on....and annoys people around us. I may have to bring a portable radio.

Without pressing any pedals push the start button and hold it for MORE than 5 seconds. This will put the car in service - diagnostic mode. Start the car as normal to take it out of this mode.

Read 9-21 thru 9-23... ........ Take your pick of answers... 1. .... I have never ...Watched ...a Drive-in movie ..past a 10 minute time.. 2. A 2 seater was never my choice... ........(although a '73 Corvette..was a favorite of mine).. ........... 3. The Engineers of the Corvette...didn't know that Drive-ins...still existed. It appears ...by the manual... That 10 minutes is the most ...before the rundown protection occurs... Becky |
